Katy Perry 'played games with Pattinson'

Katy Perry was "cruel" to play games with Robert Pattinson, it has been claimed.

The Twilight actor has been single since finally calling time on his romance with Kristen Stewart following her cheating scandal. He has been linked to Katy over the last few months, with claims their friendship had blossomed into more.

However, last week Katy was seen on a romantic night out with her ex-boyfriend John Mayer in New York City.

They are thought to have reunited, with pals of Robert upset about the way he's been treated.

"He's gone through so much with Kristen cheating on him, then taking her back, then splitting up again. It seems cruel to play games with him," one told British magazine Heat. "He never thought that it was serious with Katy, but it's not great that it looks like he was being two-timed again."

It's also been suggested that Katy always wanted to reunite with John. She recently told a magazine she was still in love with the singer, even though they weren't together at the time of the interview.

"Even though Rob and Katy were never that serious, John thought he had competition," a source explained. "Katy knew he was the kind of guy that wants what he can't have and playing him off against Rob drove him crazy. He wanted her even more."

Kristen's affair with married film director Rupert Sanders eventually proved too much for Robert. Although they tried to make it work for around a year, they split in May.

The actress still harbours feelings for her ex and it's been claimed she got in touch to check he was alright after Katy reunited with John.
