LOS ANGELES — What would the MTV Video Music Awards be without its fair share of swoonworthy celebrity couples? This year it wasn't all about the romance, though. It was celeb BFFs like Rihanna and Katy Perry and Rashida Jones and Andy Samberg who charmed us as much as adorable "real" couples like Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose and Pink and Carey Hart.
Sure we could have done with a little more during this year's show, but all the best-friend-ships were a pretty great alternative. So without further ado, these are the pairs who charmed our socks off during the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards.
Rihanna and Katy Perry
Whether it was Katy Perry singing in Rihanna's ear while One Direction was performing or the two of them clutching hands before it was announced that Rihanna won Video of the Year, these two were hands-down the cutest couple at the VMAs. And did we mention Perry's constant Rihanna butt-grabbing? Clearly there is a lot of love between these two gorgeous ladies.
Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose
Wiz Khalifa and fiancé Amber Rose waited until they caught up with Sway at the VMAs pre-show to share some pretty big news: ! The couple was adorable as they walked around Staples Center, Rose using her arm to protect her belly. Everyone was so excited by the news that Ke$ha actually interrupted the award she and Khalifa were presenting to congratulate him on the new addition to his life. Cue a requisite "aww" moment here.

Emma Watson and Ezra Miller
Emma Watson may have replaced Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint with Logan Lerman and Ezra Miller in "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," but it's clear that her connection with her two American boys is just as strong as the one she has with her fellow "Harry Potter" stars. Watson's and Miller's bubbly personalities were contagious when they came out to present Green Day's performance, and the loud, fun way they did it would have done their "Perks" characters proud.
Pink and Carey Hart
Before Pink , she and hubby Carey Hart stopped by the MTV pre-show to talk about what fans could expect during the big show. It turns out viewers could look forward to a lot of Pink singing about the love of her life. "I'm still talking about him. Always," she told, looking directly at Hart.
Rashida Jones and Andy Samberg
Rashida Jones and Andy Samberg might have fallen out of love in "Celeste and Jesse Forever," but they definitely still adore each other offscreen. The two gave one of the most hilarious presentations of the night, for Best Hip Hop Video, explaining that "it turns out that hip-hop is all about being sensitive and vulnerable now." Here's looking at you, Frank Ocean. It's a shame that the VMAs had a time limit, because we could listen to these two rap all night.
