Details about Katy Perry and Russell Brand's wedding in India this weekend are trickling in. The couple landed in Jaipur on Wednesday and now The Associated Press reports the pair is slated to get hitched Saturday near the state's Ranthambhore tiger sanctuary.
Mohan Singh of local events company Rajasthan Tours told the AP that the pair will tie the knot in a Hindu wedding ceremony and the weekend nuptials will kick off six days of festivities.
"This would be a colorful Rajasthan wedding, and both Brand and Perry would be attired in Indian wedding attires," Singh said.
Singh also said the betrothed hired 13 vehicles to shuttle their approximately 80 guests to the wildlife sanctuary for tours. The couple will stay at Aman-i-Khas resort in a luxury tent, which is close to the sanctuary. Guests will stay at the Vanyavilas and Sher Bagh resorts.
Since the pair decamped to Jaipur, Perry's family members, including her father, brother and sister, have been spotted in the city. Brand's mother, Barbara, has also been seen about town.
Private security is reportedly hanging out at the resorts but local authorities were unaware of the wedding revelry.
"We have no clue about the celebrations. But we would not allow playing of musical instruments and blaring loudspeakers after 10 in the night," Sawai Madhopur district police chief Vishnu Kant said, adding that fireworks and other racket that might bother sanctuary guests and animals are not allowed.
Even though the wedding sounds pretty epic, Perry has begged for privacy via her Twitter account.
"I have something to say... TWIT BREAK: Greatest gift u can give us is respect & [love] during this private X. No use wasting ur X w/ STOLEN or FALSE info. Thnk u for this."
