The 26-year-old Teenage Dream singer, who recently tied the knot with British comedian Russell Brand, revealed she had aimed for worldwide success from a young age.
She appeared on CBS's The Early Show on Monday where she reflected on her eventful year with presenter Maggie Rodriguez.
Asked whether life can possibly get any better, the blue-eyed brunette replied: 'I hope so, I don't want to be peaking at 26. But I have dreams and they're really, really big.'
With her quirky talent and fiery streak, the singer has quickly become a household name despite being relatively unknown just two years ago.
Asked whether she ever dreamed she would catapult to fame as a sexy pin-up singer she said: 'I think that was always in the back of my mind, that was the plan.'
As for her next mission, Perry says she's aiming for a coveted Grammy Award.
'Grammys are like catching shooting stars,' she smiled. 'Hopefully one day I'll catch one.'
