Katy Perry has given her seal of approval to Australia's Gotye tweeting to her 9 million plus followers to go out and buy his album.
'Actually, now I've bought the whole Gotye record 'Making Mirrors' and I suggest you should too. It's going to be my favourite I can tell,' she wrote.
Gotye is Melbourne based Wouter 'Wally' De Backer. He released his first album 'Boardface' in 2003. 'Making Mirrors' is his third album.
'Making Mirrors' debuted at number one in Australia, selling 38,000 units in the first week and knocking Adele '21' from the top spot.
The title was inspired by one of his father's paintings, painted in 1980.
When the album debuted at number one, the single 'Somebody That I Used To Know' was also the number one single in Australia. It was the first time an Australian act had a number one single and album simultaneously since Silverchair did it back in 2007.
