Hip-hop ranked high on Amazon's best-selling singles list for 2010, with Eminem and Nelly notching top spots, while country music reigned supreme on the best-selling albums list as Taylor Swift and Lady Antebellum took the top two positions.
Katy Perry's "California Gurls" featuring Snoop Dogg took the top spot on the singles list. Rihanna appears on that list twice, as a collaborator on Em's "Love the Way You Lie," which landed at #2 behind Perry, and with "Only Girl (In the World)," which came in at #7. Bruno Mars ("Just the Way You Are"), Nelly ("Just a Dream") and Enrique Iglesias ("I Like It," featuring Pitbull) round out the top five singles list.
The e-commerce retailer released its year-end list of the top 20 best-selling music albums and singles for the sixth consecutive year.
Grammy contenders Taylor Swift (Speak Now) and Lady Antebellum (Need You Now) were the top two sellers on the albums list. Arcade Fire (The Suburbs), Susan Boyle (The Gift) and Eminem (Recovery) complete the top five.
Earlier this week, iTunes also released its year-end list: Em topped the albums list with Recovery and Train topped the singles list with "Hey Soul Sister."
The Detroit MC certainly had a good 2010. He was named MTV News' Hottest MC in the Game in October, and his "Love the Way You Lie" was named the #9 song of the year in our list of the top 25 songs of 2010.
