Katy Perry and music legend Dolly Parton will light up the stage with a duet at the 2016 Academy of Country Music Awards.
The 9 to 5 icon will be honoured with the Tex Ritter Award for the success of her recent TV movie, Coat of Many Colors, which was a big hit when it debuted in the U.S. in December (15).
Now officials at the ACM Awards have revealed Dolly will be teaming up with Katy for a special collaboration at the Las Vegas ceremony, which is set to take place on 3 April (16).
The pair will belt out the track Coat of Many Colors, while Dolly and Katy are currently discussing plans for other renditions, too.
"We might even merge that (Coat of Many Colors) and do a little bit of Jolene, too," the veteran singer tells Entertainment Tonight. "We might kinda do some of both songs, 'cause I'm actually going to do a movie of the week on Jolene, as well."
"Katy's wanting to do Jolene, too," Dolly added. "So, I said, 'Well, we'll see what we can do to kinda put the two together.'"
The 31-year-old has long been a Dolly fan, and her devotion hasn't gone unnoticed by the 70-year-old.
"I don't know her, but I know she's a big fan and I've always been so touched and moved by all the different things that she'll say and do," the country superstar continued, "but I'm really looking forward to it. Who knows, this might strike up a whole new thing!"
Meanwhile, Katy has expressed her excitement at the duet in a Twitter post shortly after Monday's announcement.
"MY PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED," Katy exclaimed on Twitter.com. "I shall remember though that I am but one sequin on this living legend's costume!"
The Tex Ritter Award, which celebrates films featuring country music, has previously recognised films like Loretta Lynn's Coal Miner's Daughter, Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line, Crazy Heart, and O Brother, Where Art Thou?.
The two-hour Coat of Many Colors special, based on Dolly's early years, was watched by 12.8 million viewers last year (15), making it the most-watched film on the U.S.' top four networks in four years.
The ACM Awards are set to be co-hosted by singers Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley.
Chris Stapleton and Eric Church lead the field of nominations with five nods apiece. Church will compete with Garth Brooks, Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean and Bryan for the coveted Entertainer of the Year honour.
