With her first Christmas as a married woman coming this Saturday, Perry says that she and Brand are ready to "start our own new tradition because we are a family now."
"There will be me and Russ and a pink Christmas tree and a tofu-urky," she says. "We'll open one present the night before because that's the tradition in my family."
Perry, whose latest single "Firework" enjoyed its second week atop the Hot 100 last week, married Brand on Oct. 23 in India after the actor proposed to her over New Year's Eve last year. After the two met while Brand was hosting the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, Perry says that they shared a spectacular first date.
"Russell gave this necklace to me on our first date," says Perry. "It's a Hindu hand of peace. But they're not beads, they are black diamonds. He gave me black diamonds on our very first date!"
