Katy Perry may be wishing fans a happy holiday by releasing Christmas tunes.
The 30-year-old songstress has released four studio albums to date, which were all comprised of pop records.
But it seems Katy is interested in taking on a new musical challenge by penning tracks with Santa in mind.
"When your derp squad writes a Christmas song in August," she wrote on Monday in an Instagram caption attached to a video of four masked men swiveling in chairs after focusing their attention on music studio equipment. Katy ended the caption by inserting Christmas tree emojis and a musical note glyph into the message.
Katy has dazzled fans by singing holiday songs before, as she belted out a gorgeous rendition of White Christmas live at the Hotel Cafe in the past. The Firework songstress has also sung an acoustic version of Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.
Katy seems to have been hinting about her yuletide-inspired music for quite a few days now.
On August 7 she joked about a studio incident which almost saw the star fall flat on her face.
"Ya know yer sanging good when ya lose yer balance & fall over in the vocal booth (sic)," she wrote on Twitter, closing the tweet off with Christmas tree, prayer and musical notes emojis.
Katy has a lot of professional activity going on this Christmas season, as she was recently announced as the new face of H&M's 2015 Holiday ads.
Her ads will debut in November and one shot released sees Katy peeking out from underneath a black and white snowflake jumper with a big grin on her face, with a red bow in her hair adding to the festive vibe.
