Overview
Despite high-profile headlines over his bitter divorce from wife Camille, he brought Kayte along to the David Letterman show and even allowed the cameras to show her with his young son Spencer and daughter Mason.
His discussion with Letterman was mostly about his Broadway play La Cage Aux Folles, with him initially only referring to 'all this other stuff going on'.
But Letterman then asked outright: 'I understand that your marriage is ending - I'm sorry to hear that, or I'm not sorry?'
'You are respectfully considerate yet pleased for the new developments in my life,' Grammer said.
Asked how his four children were dealing with the split, he insisted: 'The kids seem to be doing OK. We've been spending quite a bit of time with them, Kayte and I - Kayte's my new girl. We're getting married soon, some time in February.'
