The hoopla around the Kim/Kris split has yet to die down. Kim Kardashian is currently in Australia promoting a line of handbags with her sister Khloé and has this message for her fans days after she announced the news: She's trying to get through this difficult time as best as she can.
"I mean, in a tough situation I'm trying to do the best that I can," she told Australian radio hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O. "It's actually kind of an escape to be able to come here. There's really no easy way to go through something like this."
A leopard-print-clad Kardashian, who addressed her split from hubby-of-72-days Kris Humphries in a blog post on Tuesday, added that right now she wants to keep as many details about the breakup as private as possible. "I mean, absolutely [I married for love]. I don't think I'm ready to go into, you know, the details of what went on in my marriage," she said in a video posted on Radar Online. "But I do want to make clear that I would never marry for a TV show, for money, for anything like that. I think that's really ridiculous that I have to even defend that. ... I guess, you know, that comes along with when you film your wedding for a reality show. With the support of my family, everything will work out the way it's supposed to."
Khloé, who was also present during the chat, commended her sister for remaining focused on work and not shying away from any and all attention. "I'm so proud of my sister for being so strong," she said. "We're here as a commitment. She is indulging herself in work and we're here."
Tick Tock: The Shortest Celebrity Marriages Ever
In an interview with MTV News back in June, Khloé admitted to being a bit surprised by Kim's relationship with the basketball player. "Mine was insanity in the best way ever," Khloé said of her quickie engagement to Lamar Odom. "But [with] Kim's, we were totally surprised. I mean, because I had been working so much, and Kris lives in New Jersey, I've only met him not even a handful of times. We were at a family dinner, and she walks in, and she's like, 'I'm engaged,' but we didn't even know if it was a joke."
Kim and Khloé's appearance comes as the entire Kardashian crew is out promoting various projects. Kris Jenner, who is promoting her book "Kris Jenner ... and All Things Kardashian," spoke to Sway Calloway on his "Sway in the Morning" radio show on Sirius XM's Shade 45, where she addressed rumors that Kim profited from her wedding to Humphries.
Kim's Cover Up: How The Tabloids Got It Right
"The misconception that's so annoying in the media and the press is that the wedding was a sham and she did it for the money," Kris said.
"Kim didn't make any money off of this wedding. No. She didn't make five cents off of the wedding. She spent millions of dollars of her own money on a wedding."
