Kim Kardashian attended a funeral for Kanye West's grandfather Saturday.
The socialite and her rapper boyfriend, who welcomed daughter North June 15, jet to Oklahoma this weekend to mourn his family member.
People magazine reports Portwood Williams, Sr. died August 10 at the age of 98.
The couple reportedly took their newborn baby girl along, forcing Kim to miss her half-sister's 16th birthday celebration.
"They brought North, too. Her first trip," a source said. "That's why they weren't at Kylie's birthday."
Portwood gave Kanye and Kim his seal of approval before his death.
The nonagenarian was apparently struck by his grandson's beautiful girlfriend when they met.
"And she's just as sweet as she is beautiful. That's what I liked about her!" he told the New York Daily News.
Kim's other family members meanwhile made Kylie Jenner the centre of attention Saturday night.
E! News reports half-sisters Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian and sister Kendall Jenner were among those at the Alice in Wonderland-themed soirée.
Rappers Drake and Big Sean were also at the event.
While Kim and Kanye have kept largely out of the spotlight since baby North's birth, Kim did log onto Twitter to celebrate her younger sibling's milestone on her actual birthday of August 10.
"More bday love for my muse & baby sis @kyliejenner," Kim wrote.
The reality star accompanied the message with a photo collage of herself with Kylie.
"Happy Birthday to my baby sis @kyliejenner !!!! Can't believe your 16! I love you so much!" she gushed.
