Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill has suffered broken ribs after a tour-bus incident this weekend (9 August).
The band were reportedly travelling to a show in Saratoga Springs, New York when the incident occurred, forcing the group’s tour bus to unexpectedly grind to a halt and in turn injuring the drummer.
Shedding more light on the accident, which has left Nathan Followill with broken ribs, Kings of Leon posted an official statement on their Facebook page last night (10 August).
The statement read: "Due to an accident on their tour bus, Kings of Leon will unfortunately have to postpone tonight's show in Saratoga Springs, NY. The band [were] en route to their hotel after their show in Boston when a pedestrian jumped in front of their tour bus, causing the bus to stop short, injuring Nathan Followill."
"Nathan is being treated for broken ribs, but is doing well. The band will postpone the show that was planned for tonight August 10th, until further notice. Refunds for ticket holders will be available at point of purchase.”
It is currently uncertain as to whether Kings of Leon will be cancelling any more dates due to the incident, with two months left of their current US tour, however recent posts on the band members' respective twitter pages would indicate Followill is recovering well.
