La Roux is closing in on Ed Sheeran for the top spot of the Official UK Albums Chart this week, with her new album Trouble In Paradise.
The 23 year old pop singer Elly Jackson - whose sophomore album is her first release in 5 years - entered the charts on Monday (21 July) is only 8,000 copies behind Ed Sheeran at the midway stage. If Sheeran holds on it will be his fifth week at the top spot.
La Roux has been making the headlines this week for insulting Kanye West, and expressing her disdain toward undergroud music.
Elsewhere in the mid-week charts, Sam Smith climbs one place to no.3 with In The Lonely Hour, while Dolly Parton is down one place with her best of album Blue Smoke. George Ezra's debut album Wanted On Voyage is in at no.5
