La Roux has spoken out against comments she made in the past that were seen as victim-blaming, saying: "I used to be so stupid."
The singer first rose to fame after the release of her second single, 'Into The Kill', in 2009. The song peaked at No.2 in the UK singles chart, and eventually became the sixth best-selling single of the year.
The then 21 year old singer quickly courted controversy though, after an interview with The Quietus in which she suggested victims of abuse were themselves to blame.
"I know that there's far more ways to be sexy than to dress in a miniskirt and a tank top," the singer said. "If you're a real woman you can turn someone on in a plastic bag just by looking at them. That's what a real woman is, when you've got the sex eyes."
She added: "I think you attract a certain kind of man by dressing like that. Women wonder why they get beaten up, or have relationships with arsehole men. Because you attracted one, you twat."
In a new interview with the Guardian, the singer seems, thankfully, to have changed her mind. "When I see things like that, I feel like I'm looking at my younger sister and going: 'Come on!' Obviously I don't still think that."
She continued, "I made some massive errors in judgement. I used to be so stupid. But I was young and often said things just to rile people up."
La Roux's second album, Trouble In Paradise, is released on 7 July, and its promotional single 'Let Me Down Gently' was revealed earlier this month.
