The singer started selling the bands to help survivors of the Japan earthquake which struck earlier this year, but is now being sued for £3million by a Detroit law firm that claims she inflated postage costs and didn't pass all the money on to the cause.
She sold her We Pray For Japan wristbands for £3.13, charging £2.50 for shipping and handling and 38p for taxes, but according to The Sun, lawyers at 1-800-LAW-FIRM allege that not all of the proceeds were passed on to charity.
Ari Kresch, a lawyer with the firm, filed the class action on behalf of fan Caitlin Demetsenare and other unnamed people, and said, 'I'm suing Lady Gaga to hold her accountable for giving the money she was raising to the cause that she was trying to raise it for.'
The 25-year-old's record label Universal Music Group and its merchandising company Bravado are also accused in the suit and have yet to comment.
