The 'Edge of Glory' singer was guest judge on the hit US TV talent show and was overcome with emotion when hopefuls Marko and Allison showed off their routine to Jeff Buckley's 'I Know It's Over', because it reminded her of her youth.
An emotional Gaga, 25, told the contestants: "I'm just so proud of you. You really love to dance. There were so many things I did wrong when I was younger and so many things I wish I could take back. I felt every moment of that in your dance tonight. You are absolutely incredible. Whether you are number one, three or ten, you have it."
Before the show the 'Born This Way' hitmaker ' who joined regular judges Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy as well as fellow guest judge Rob Marshall on the panel ' spoke of her excitement about taking part.
She tweeted: "At So You Think You Can Dance getting ready. I'm so excited! Tune in live tonight, I'm so excited! Everyone here is so darling! (sic)"
