Threats from Islamic extremists have caused Lady Gaga to cancel her Indonesian show.
Indonesian Police had been concerned over threats from Islamic groups in the lead-up to Gaga's June 3 concert in Jakarta.
A lawyer for concert promoter Big Daddy, Minola Sebayang, told the Associated Press "With threats if the concert goes ahead, Lady Gaga's side is calling off the concert. This is not only about Lady Gaga's security, but extends to those who will be willing to watch her."
She had completely sold out her Indonesian show, with 52,000 people to attend. Now all tickets will be refunded.
AP reports that Salim Alatas of the Islamic Defenders Front said, "This is a victory for Indonesian Muslims. Thanks to God for protecting us from a kind of devil."
For her part, Lady Gaga tweeted, "There is nothing Holy about hatred" and then informed her fans "We had to cancel the concert in Indonesia. I'm so very sorry to the fans & just as devastated as you if not more. You are everything to me".
But she later promised "I will try to put together something special for you. My love for Indonesia has only grown. #GagaSendsLoveToJakarta and all its people."
