Lady Gaga will make her TV debut in American Horror Story.
The Applause singer has previously lent her voice to The Simpsons but her casting in the popular horror series will see her take on her first major television role. The newly engaged star made the announcement on Twitter on Wednesday in a black and white teaser video.
"Make your reservation now. #GagaAHSHotel," she captioned the footage, which featured her with her face covered by a black embellished mask until the very end, when she announced the title of the season. "American Horror Story, Season 5.Hotel."
Details of her character are yet to be revealed but the star is clearly excited to be part of the critically acclaimed show which stars Jessica Lange and Kathy Bates.
It wasn't all good news for Gaga on Wednesday however, as she was on the receiving end of some disgruntled comments by fellow pop star, Madonna.
The Material Girl revealed in a candid interview with Rolling Stone that she has taken issue with the 28-year-old in the past.
"The only time I ever criticised Lady Gaga was when I felt like she blatantly ripped off one of my songs," the 56-year-old explained. "It's got nothing to do with 'she's taking my crown' or 'she's in some space of mine.' She has her thing. I do think she's a very talented singer and songwriter. It was just that one issue."
The legendary singer is likely to be referring Gaga's track Born This Way, which many compared to her 1989 single Express Yourself. But despite that one criticism, Madonna is pleased that Gaga is having a lot of success.
"I don't think she wants my crown ... We live in a world where people like to pit women against each other," she added. "And this is why I love the idea of embracing other females who are doing what I'm doing."
