Lady Gaga has revealed she "said YES!" to her partner Taylor Kinney's marriage proposal.
The Bad Romance singer began dating the actor after meeting on the set of her 2011 video You and I.
And on Monday February 16, Gaga confirmed reports she became engaged to her beau on the most romantic day of the year.
"He gave me his heart on Valentine's Day, and I said YES!" she wrote in an Instagram caption attached to a photo of her left hand donning a huge heart-shaped diamond ring. The touching black and white image saw Gaga's hand enclosed with Taylor's.
The news of their engagement was first confirmed to Us Weekly on Monday by Times Herald-Record executive editor Barry Lewis, who added that following the proposal, the couple celebrated at the singer's family's restaurant, Joanne Trattoria, on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
"I heard the singer say 'it was time' as she flashed the ring around," Barry said, who was eating there at the time. "Gaga and Kinney were accompanied by two massive bodyguards, one located by Gaga, the other near the entrance to the main dining room. Her father Joe Germanotta popped open a bottle of champagne to toast the couple and welcome Kinney into the family."
Gaga was photographed on Monday with a big smile on her face and concealing her left hand underneath her right while wearing an oversized purple fur coat.
She and Taylor began dating a few months after shooting the music video in Nebraska, in which the singer ironically wore her mother's wedding dress. They split briefly in May 2012, only to reunite a month later, and Gaga has often spoken of how much she cares for her beau.
"He is the right guy," she told Howard Stern recently. "How do we know? It's this feeling..."
