The 24-year-old Poker Face singer, who is famous for her wacky outfits, is reported to have applied for a job as a lecturer at New York City's famous Parsons The New School for Design.
And she reportedly reckons her outrageous style makes her perfect for the role.
A source revealed: 'She is planning a radical career shift after she wraps up her Monster Ball tour next spring.
'She wants to use her famous fashion sense and avant-garde art obsession to launch an academic career.'
'Nothing has been finalised yet,' an insider told a US magazine. 'But she has pitched herself for an artist-in-residence position.
'She would like to teach in the fashion-design programme and wants to incorporate elements of music study, popular culture and media studies.'
Gaga hit headlines in September when she turned up at a music awards show in a ‘dress’ made out of raw meat.
A representative for Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, was unavailable for comment.
The news comes after the University of South Carolina in America launched a course called 'Lady Gaga and the Sociology of Fame'.
