Fans hoping for a sequel to Lady Gaga's hit "Telephone" should know that Mother Monster has news for you: part two is on its way!
It turns out there just might be a little more musical magic left for Gaga and her pal Beyoncé to conjure up. While hard at work on her 2013 album release, ARTPOP, the singer confirmed on Wednesday (October 24) that there will be a follow-up to the 2010 Fame Monster single.
Responding to a fan, @drunky_gaga, who asked on Twitter, "I heard the continuation of telephone will be on ARTPOP! fact or fake?" Gaga replied simply: "Fact." Little else is known about the tune at this point, and a rep for Beyoncé told on Wednesday (October 24) they had "no info."
It was only a few years ago that Lady Gaga and the Queen B teamed up for one of the fiercest pop collaborations in recent memory. "Telephone" not only proved to be infectious ear candy, but the accompanying clip, which imagined the pop stars as "Thelma & Louise" types with a taste for couture and murder, became an instant smash.
We don't know whether Beyoncé will make the album's final cut but Gaga did confirm that Lana Del Rey has collaborated with her on the LP version of "Princess Die," a track she's been playing in concert for months. Additionally, rapper Azealia Banks is set to appear on ARTPOP. In a fan chat on her Littlemonsters.com, the Gaga revealed that she recorded a song called "Ratchet" with the feisty MC.
Also during the chat, the pop superstar shared some of the lyrics to a song called "Tea," tweeting, "Its been oolong since i've had a sip and I get this feeling, i need a green detox the truth will be the winner tonight."
She's also rounded up some of her usual production suspects to help cook up tracks for ARTPOP, including Fernando Garibay, DJ White Shadow, RedOne and Zedd.
