Lady Gaga dropped an "unfortunate announcement" Tuesday (February 12) — so unfortunate that she barely knew how to tell her fans, especially those who were planning on seeing her in Chicago, Detroit and Hamilton, Ontario. The singer delayed three Born This Way Ball shows due to a crippling injury.
"I've been hiding a show injury and chronic pain for sometime now, over the past month it has worsened. I've been praying it would heal," Gaga revealed on Twitter. "I hid it from my staff, I didn't want to disappoint my amazing fans. However after last nights performance I could not walk and still can't."

Mother Monster posted on her site that, by doctor's orders, she must postpone her North American tour, citing synovitis (severe inflammation of joints) as the culprit. Gaga is currently halfway through her Ball dates, taking over Montreal on Monday night, but three upcoming shows have been postponed.

Dates in Philadelphia and New York City leave Lady Gaga just one week to rest up for the planned shows, but Gaga plans on healing "as soon as possible."
"To the fans in Chicago Detroit & Hamilton I hope you can forgive me, as it is nearly impossible for me to forgive myself. Im devasted & sad," the singer wrote. "It will hopefully heal as soon as possible, I hate this. I hate this so much. I love you and Im sorry."
