Lady Gaga treated fans to a surprise mini-set at New York's Oak Room on Wednesday night (Jan. 5), taking the stage to sing covers of the jazz standards "Orange Colored Sky" and "Someone to Watch Over Me."
Gaga -- who gladly snapped photos with her fans after the show, according to reports -- was at the Plaza Hotel's nightspot to catch a weekly performance by Brian Newman, a jazz singer/trumpet player and friend of the pop star's. Luckily for those who weren't at Oak Room last night, Gaga's performance was captured on video. Watch:
Gaga joined Newman onstage at the Oak Room once before in September, and back in June, the singer graced the downtown restaurant and burlesque club Duane Park, where Newman also performs on a weekly basis.
Note to all New Yorkers who are also Lady Gaga fans: start attending all of Brian Newman's shows, stat.
