Lady Gaga has purchased a collection of clothes previously owned by Michael Jackson.
The superstar singer won the pieces at an auction of the late singer's most iconic clothing held in Beverly Hills yesterday.
Among the items that went under the hammer at Julien's Auctions were Michael's 'Bad' jacket and a pair of his white spangled gloves.
Gaga plans to preserve the collection in order to keep his memory alive in a worthy manner.
"The 55 pieces I collected today will be archived and expertly cared for in the spirit and love of Michael Jackson, his bravery and his fans worldwide," Gaga wrote on Twitter.
The Bad Romance star also shared a quote from the legendary musician that has inspired her in the past.
"Study the greats and become greater. - Michael Jackson," Gaga wrote, alongside a picture of her holding her auction paddle.
The costumes were all worn by Michael during his impressive career in the music industry.
Hundreds of thousands of dollars were collected during the sale, according to auctioneer Darren Julien.
One of the pieces which made the most was the jacket the star wore on his Bad tour, which fetched $240,000. Two of Jackson's crystal-encrusted gloves sold for more than $100,000 each, as did other jackets and performance costumes.
The auction featuring the collection of the singer's long-time costume designers Dennis Tompkins and Michael Bush raised more than $5 million. Some proceeds benefited Guide Dogs of America and Nathan Adelson Hospice of Las Vegas.
Just before Gaga tweeted about her new items, she was revealed as MTV UK's Star of 2012 on the social networking website.
"Little Monsters! Congratulations you voted over 176k times and have crowned Lady Gaga as MTV UK's Star of 2012! WOW! , (sic)" MTV announced on Twitter.
