LADY GAGA has admitted she finished with her long-term boyfriend to pursue a music career.
The singer said her ex wanted her to be a housewife and hated the thought of her becoming famous.
She said: "I've only ever really been in love once. He didn't want me to do this job. He wanted me to stay at home, so I left.
"It broke my heart but also made me realise music is my first love."
The star also said there were benefits to putting a career before a relationship.
"My music's never going to roll over in bed one morning and tell me it doesn't love me anymore. I have a problem with rejection."
She is currently number one with her new single 'Poker Face'.
