The Edge of Glory hitmaker, who is known for her quirky outfits, revealed her plans to reporters backstage at the MuchMusic Video Awards in Canada over the weekend.
She said that in the future when she is finished with music, she wants a career in fashion.
Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, said: 'I really, really have such admiration for fashion designers and I'm such good friends with them.'
According to MTV News, the 25-year old added: 'I'd love to have a fashion line when I stop making music for a while, for a year, but that's not going to happen soon. I'm in love with songwriting right now.'
The singer recently won the Fashion Icon Award at the CFDA Fashion Awards.
