Earlier this month Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy announced the trio would not be returning for a fourth season of the musical series as their characters were due to graduate.
But executive producer Brad Falchuk has now insisted all three will continue to be involved with the program.
'They are not done with the show after this season,' Falchuk told Us Magazine. 'Because they're graduating doesn't mean they're leaving the show. If you have Lea Michele under contract, you don't just say, 'We're going to let you go’. It was never our intention to let them go.”
He also dismissed reports that Michele, 24, Monteith, 29, and Colfer, 21, were due to get their own spin-off series.
'That was something we were planting as a possibility, but we didn't get much further than that,' Falchuk said. 'We're leaning against doing it. We certainly have explored it, but I think we're going to pass.'
