Lea Michele totally "geeked out" when she saw Beyonce at a recent basketball game.
The former Glee star was sitting just a couple of rows behind the singer and her husband Jay Z at a Los Angeles Clippers match, and she admits she couldn't keep her eyes off the superstar couple.
"It's crazy because being an actor you really try to be considerate of other people in this industry and I don't really geek out over people," Lea said during an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden on Wednesday night (02Feb16), "but there's just something that comes over you, at least with me, when you see Beyonce.
"And I found myself being like, 'They ordered a vodka soda. They're drinking it. They just took another sip. She put on her glasses and now she took off her glasses'. And my friends were like, 'What is wrong with you?' And I was like, 'Don't you get it?' They're our royalty, at least for me!"
Lea was appearing on the show alongside Once Upon a Time actress Ginnifer Goodwin, who didn't share Lea's love for Beyonce, but confessed to losing her cool when she met Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney.
"I went to a party that Paul McCartney was hosting once and I kind of threw up happiness on him," she laughed. "I was compulsively like, 'You make me really happy'. And that's all I could think of to say. And he said, 'Well you can come again'. I was like, 'I will!'"
Lea might have been happy to talk of her love for Beyonce, but she didn't mention her personal life during the interview, which took place just weeks after her split from boyfriend Matthew Paetz. He called time on their two-year relationship reportedly without warning.
"He had enough," a source told Us Weekly. "She was completely crushed. He won't take her back."
However, Lea has something to smile about after partnering with lip balm company Burt's Bees for a campaign to raise awareness about the world's declining bee population.
"I think this is an issue that a lot of people may not be educated on, so I wanted to help make people aware of it." Lea told People.
