Lea Michele's new album captures the most "beautiful" and "happiest" moments of her life.
The 27-year-old actress has released her debut record Louder after working hard on it over the past year.
While recording the songs, Lea found it a release from her recent struggles, especially the death of her Glee love interest and real-life boyfriend Cory Monteith. The actor passed last July from a drug overdose.
"It's really the story of the past two years of my life. The incredible, beautiful, happiest moments of my life, as well as the worst. And my goal in all of this was to make an album that was honest and was true to me," she explained to E! News.
"I didn't record one word that I didn't feel I could relate to, whether or not I wrote it or it was given to me. These are words, these are parts of me. And so I'm very proud of it, and it is something beautiful that did come out of a very difficult time."
Each track represents different experiences she has gone through, from the good to the bad. Revealing her favourite song on the album, Lea shared the story behind the lyrics.
"I would say that my favourite song is definitely You're Mine. It's really about making that commitment in a relationship, about at the beginning being scared to take the leap, but when once you take it, committing yourself to another person and saying, you know, this is it, for life," she added.
Lea has been open about how she has coped with the loss of Cory. Speaking at a small listening party for her new album, the brunette beauty said she is happy to have had such a happy relationship.
"And I'm so grateful to get to say that I experienced true love, and I think that a lot of people, unfortunately, don't. They'll go a whole lifetime without experiencing it, and I did, and I consider myself so lucky that I got to," she smiled.
