The hit maker says it was a one-off experience for her, People reports.
'I do know how much I love him,' she told ABC's Robin Roberts. 'So, I've always said I don't live my life with regret. I can't.'
The country star says their situation is far from unique.
'It happens every day to so many people,' the 28-year-old said. 'You had two couples whose marriages didn't work who really stumbled upon each other and fell in love.'
Reflecting on the situation Cibrian commented, 'We make mistakes and we learn from them, but we're human. We fell in love.'
