LeAnn Rimes has checked into a treatment facility.
The star made the decision to seek help, her representative has confirmed. The star began her rehab stint yesterday, a day after she turned 30.
"LeAnn has voluntarily entered a 30 day in-patient treatment facility to cope with anxiety and stress," her spokesperson Marcel Pariseau told People.
"While there will be speculation regarding her treatment, she is simply there to learn and develop coping mechanisms. While privacy isn't expected, it's certainly appreciated."
LeAnn hopes the decision will help her cope with the pressures of her life better.
"This is just a time for me to emotionally check out for a second and take care of myself and come back in 30 days as the best 30-year-old woman I can be," she said.
"All the things in my life will be there when I get out, but you know what? I'm hoping they're not going to affect me as much. I'll have the tools to know how to deal with them."
LeAnn's husband Eddie Cibrian is giving his wife his total support. He is proud that she is taking steps to improve her life.
"My wife is the most remarkable and courageous woman I know," he said. "I am so proud of her for having the strength to finally take some time for herself. I will be with her every step of the way."
LeAnn has boasted an increasingly slim physique over the last few months, leading to speculation she might have a problem with food. Her spokesperson has insisted she is not receiving help for an eating disorder or drug problem.
The star has music shows lined up in September. It's been confirmed she will be allowed time out of rehab to take to the stage.
