LeAnn Rimes has written a song about breaking a lover's heart.
The country singer – who is getting divorced from Dean Sheremet and is now in a relationship with her 'Northern Lights' co-star Eddie Cibrian – reveals in the track she is upset with the way she treated her ex-lover and hurting "the only man who's ever loved her".
The lyrics to the untitled song read: "What have I done? I broke the heart of the sweetest man. What have I done? I broke the heart of the only man who's ever loved me. Who have I become? I hope you find someone new, someone who deserves you."
The 27-year-old singer revealed her new track on Monday night (25.01.10) at the ASCAP Music Cafe at the Sundance Film Festival.
She told the audience: "This song is going to make me cry. It's about love."
This heartfelt track was followed by another number - titled 'God Takes Care of Your Kind' - which LeAnn explained was about a scorned lover getting drunk and seeking revenge.
She said: "A friend of mine got divorced about three years and the guy turned into a real a*s-h**e and we wanted to kill him. Everyone gets their heart broken and wants revenge. Sometimes we sit around drinking wine and talk about it, but this song is for everyone who wants to finally get that revenge."
LeAnn recently admitted her new album – which will be released this spring - is inspired by the end of her marriage.
She said: "Most of the stuff I've written myself, so it's definitely my life. The subjects of the tunes are down the middle between heartbreak and love."
