Leonard Cohen is reported to be preparing to release new album as he turns 80, called Popular Problems.
Cohen's last album was released in 2012, but nowRolling Stone are reporting that a new album titled Popular Problems will be coming out on September 21 to coincide with the Canadian singer's birthday. However, no live shows have been planned.
Jarkko Arjatsalo, the man responsible for running Cohen's website, wrote the foreword for a fan event sactioned by the singer himself that: "Leonard has worked hard on his next studio album of entirely new songs. He asked me to let you know that Popular Problems will be out at the end of September, shortly after his 80th birthday."
In 2013 Cohen performed a new track for first time at Dublin's O2 Arena. The song, titled 'I've Got A Secret', features lyrics from another unreleased song 'Feels So Good' which Cohen first sang on his 2009 tour and has subsequently appeared on other setlists but has still yet to be released.
