Linkin Park rapper Mike Shinoda has teamed up with Jay-Z for his new side-project, Fort Minor reports NME.com.
The hip-hop legend has executively produced the band's debut album 'The Rising Tied' following on from his collaboration with Linkin Park on the 2004 album 'Collision Course'.
'The Rising Tied' is due for release on November 21 on Linkin Park's own Machine Shop imprint through Warner Brothers.
Shinoda plays nearly every instrument on the LP, which also features collaborations with Common, John Legend, The Roots' Black Thought, Kenna and Linkin Park DJ Joe Hahn.
The tracks 'Remember The Name' and 'Petrified' will precede the album on October 4 when they are released as digital downloads.
Shinoda told Billboard: "The Fort Minor record is all about getting back to basics in hip-hop, both sonically and for me personally."
He added: "And working with Jay-Z again has been phenomenal. We can't wait for people to hear the final product."
