Our favourite new export from Ireland, Sisters, have finally returned with an awesome new track. Check out 'February' below.
It's been nearly a year since we premiered the trio's huge last single 'Hush Hush', and we're chuffed to bits that they're back. Another sweet but not sickly dose of hazey dream-pop with a grungey edge, 'February' is the perfect soundtrack to youthful abandon.
Better still, it's available as a free download right here.
Explaining the track, Sisters said: "Niall loves Andrew. Andrew loves Aoife. Aoife loves trees. And it’s been that way since we were ten years old. Wisdom told us getting on a London-bound boat on our 20th birthday was probably going to end in sadness. Wisdom was probably right. What motivation it is. Sadness is a B minor strangled on the neck of a Jaguar, pushed through a Holy Grail and spat out of a Vox.
"Sadness wriggles from the warm embrace of a Jazz. Sadness pummels you, beats on you. Wisdom made sadness. Sadness made us. February is our new song. February is free. We will release an EP for free. We’ve not made a cent from being friends. Not made a dime from being a band. Not seen a dollar for being Sisters. Why change the habit of a lifetime?"
Why indeed. Never change, Sisters.
Meanwhile, if you're in New York, the band will be playing the following shows at CMJ Festival:
