Former indie "It" girl with a guitar, the inimitable Liz Phair, will release Funstyle on Rocket Science on October 19. "Everyone wanted another Exile [in Guyville], and at one point, I just thought I should do it," the singer/songwriter told Billboard.com. "I do a lot of scoring for TV shows and thought that maybe I should approach it like writing for a client and just give people what they wanted. But at the last minute, I backed out." Wow, that is ballsy of her. I cannot wait to see what she came up with.
Phair will package the physical version of Funstyle with the Girly Sound demos, which she first released in 1992. She plans to tour behind the new album, too.
