Legendary US singer Liza Minnelli collapsed on stage in the Swedish city of Gothenburg and was rushed back to the United States for medical treatment, media reports.
After performing three songs in a Christmas show on Wednesday with several Swedish stars, Minnelli dropped her microphone and in full view of the audience stumbled off the stage and collapsed, local daily Gothenborgs-Posten said on its website.
She flew back to New York Thursday morning for medical treatment, a spokesman for the concert organisers, Zlatko Nedanovski, told the paper.
Minnelli had felt faint before the concert began but she and her manager had decided she should go on stage anyway.
"She's an entertainer and their attitude is that the show must go on," Nedanovski said.
Minnelli had been scheduled to perform in Copenhagen on Thursday and Saturday, but those concerts had been cancelled.
