LOS ANGELES — There was no shortage of attractive women on the 2012 VMA red carpet, and if 2 Chainz had to pick his favorite, it would have to be the gold-medal-winning U.S. women's gymnastics team. Interestingly enough, Mac Miller had his eyes on the Fierce Five as well.
"I'm looking at the girls that won the gold medal for the country. I don't think like you guys," 2 Chainz told of Gabby Douglas, McKayla Maroney, Kyla Ross, Jordyn Wieber and Alexandra Raisman.
Fitting that two of rap's rising stars have the same taste in women. Mac walked down the carpet right after Chainz and echoed a similar sentiment. "I think I got a chance with the gold medalist chicks," he said.
When MTV News informed Miller that his celebrity crush may cause a bit of friction between him and Deuce, he was most ambivalent. "So, so be it," the Macadelic MC said before suggesting a little friendly competition with 2 Chainz, who towers over Mac physically. "A little rap battle for Gabby."
During the main show, the Fierce Five continued to turn heads when they introduced Alicia Keys and Nicki Minaj's "Girl on Fire" performance. During Keys' spirited and empowering anthem for women, Douglas came out after Minaj's verse and performed cartwheels and flips.
Sadly for both 2 Chainz and Mac Miller, when MTV News asked Douglas which celebrity she was most excited to meet at the 2012 VMAs, she didn't name-drop either of the two. "It would definitely be Lil Wayne because I've always listened to him and he puts together these amazing lyrics and he's just awesome," she said.
