Manu Chao - the legendary French-Spanish performer and songwriter – will release a special 'Politik Kills' remix EP, on download (nine remixes) and 12" vinyl (six remixes), through Because Music on Monday 26th May.
Manu Chao has also just announced that he will be headlining the Main stage at The Lovebox Festival, in London's Victoria Park, on Saturday 19th July, his only London show this year.
The EP includes remixes by UK reggae maestro Dennis Bovell, featuring an additional vocal by the legendary dub poet Linton Kwesi Johnson, by Island Records founder Chris Blackwell & Paul "Groucho" Smykle and a version by Prince Fatty, whose 'recent credits include Lily Allen's smash 'Alright Still', and more.
The original version of "Politik Kills" is one of the standout tracks from Chao's much-acclaimed La Radiolina album, which was released in September 2007, and has just won a Billboard Latin Music Award in the 'Best Rock / Alternative Album' category.
