Marie Osmond was rushed to hospital in Las Vegas last night.
The 39-year-old singer currently performs concerts at the Flamingo hotel with her brother Donny. After her show on Wednesday, Marie was taken to the emergency room and underwent a series of x-rays and test. She was later diagnosed with a severe case of bronchitis.
Marie was released from hospital a few hours after she was admitted.
"[Marie has a] bad lung problem," the singer's representative Alan Nierob told TMZ.
She is consulting doctors about her condition.
It is unknown whether her illness will affect her upcoming scheduled performances. A box office representative at the Flamingo concert venue confirmed that Marie is still scheduled to perform tonight.
Marie realised something was wrong when her voice began to give during her performance on Wednesday.
Marie's son Michael Bryan committed suicide in 2010 when he was 18-years-old. Marie was performing in Vegas with her brother Donny at the time of Michael's death.
Shortly after her son's funeral Marie took back to the Las Vegas stage to help her grieve.
"It was really hard. It was a calculated decision," she said on Oprah Winfrey's talk in spring 2010. "I'm unique, I guess. I'm a female in the entertainment business who has been working 48 years consistently. My stage is my safe place. It doesn't scare me, like I guess it scares some people. And I knew that if I didn't get back on stage that I may never get back on stage."
