The American star had several hits as part of hip-hop group Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch in the 90s, and is renowned for the steamy advertising campaign for Calvin Klein underwear he participated in. Although Mark doesn’t regret his past decisions, he has decided to focus on his Hollywood career from now on.
“Definitely not,” he replied, when asked if he misses his rap career. “And I promise faithfully: I won't ever record a CD of rap music again and I will never work as an underwear-model again. You know, at the bottom of my heart I marvel every day at where fate has led me.”
Mark has brushes with the law when he was a youngster, serving 45 days in jail after pleading guilty to assault following a robbery in which a man was blinded in one eye. The 39-year-old spends a lot of time thinking about the sort of life he led when he was younger, explaining he thinks he was left to fend for himself too much.
“I was simply left to myself too much as a child and a teen,” he told the German edition of OK! magazine. “You get ideas then. My parents both had several jobs because they needed to get food for us nine children. There isn't much time left to care about the pains and hardships of your offspring.”
