The 37-year-old revealed on Twitter that he has spent some time in hospital because of the illness.
He wrote: 'Admitted to hospital for a few days for nasty infection in both ears. Morphine & IV-antibiotics. I'm all woozy & talking like Brian Wilson.
'Not only is it very painful but I can't reach the remote and it's stuck on Bridezillas. Fortunately my hearings wonky so I can't hear it. When you're in hospital people ask nonchalantly '& how are your stools?' & being a t**t I still giggle like I'm at school.'
He later added: 'No idea if the antibiotics are working but the morphine has kicked in & is really helping. Honestly they should sell this stuff in Tesco's!
'M&S could do Organic Morphine with a hint of lime & ginger. Aldi could sell it in cans, or dried-up like Pot Noodle, and you just add water.'
