The singer would jump at the chance to reunite with her bandmates Victoria Beckham, Mel B, Emma Bunton and Geri Haliwell for the games as it would also get her inside.
She told BANG Showbiz: "We've never actually been approached about the Olympics and it's just rumours at the moment unfortunately but I'd jump at it if we were asked. I'm very excited about the Olympics being here in London. And it'd get me in wouldn't it because I've got no tickets."
The next project for the group is 'Viva Forever', the musical based on their songs, and although Mel can't wait to see it, she admitted she is happy to leave the hard work to producer Judy Kramer and writer Jennifer Saunders.
She said: "We've left it in the hands of our wonderful producer Judy Kramer and of course Jennifer Saunders. They're working on the story, we have a new director and it's just moving along and we're really excited to get to the casting stages but it's not going to be ready until sometime next year.
"Judy wants us to be involved in casting because she wants us to be happy but we have a lot of faith in her and she's very experienced in this field."
After taking time out from her recording career following the release of 2007's 'This Time', Mel is set to return with a new album this year and revealed she thinks it is her best work since her lauded first album 'Northern Star'.
She said: "I'm just working on a new album at the moment. That'll be out later this year. It's going really good, really exciting. I feel like it's my strongest album yet since my first so it's really exciting."
