Metallica's special cassette release for Record Store Day was the second biggest selling item on the day last weekend.
Record Store Day 2015 was a resounding success according to Buzz Angle Music.
The site reports that overall sales for the day were up 39% with vinyl sales up 45% and albums up 24% but the real winner was singles whose sales increased by 97% over last year's event.
The amazing impact for independent stores can be seen when comparing sales to the previous Saturday, April 11. Sales of all titles were up 742% week-to-week while the sales of singles was up a resounding 32,072%.
