Mike Peters diagnosed with leukemia

Mike Peters of The Alarm has been diagnosed with leukemia.

He writes on The Alarm's web site he was diagnosed December 8th with chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

Peters says it comes almost ten years to the day he was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, which seems to have gone into remission. He calls the leukemia "a disease I will probably die with, rather than of."

Peters says he's been treated with a blood filtering process and with chemotherapy he started last week. He says the biggest threat to his life is not the cancer, but infections, so he has to protect himself from anything even as common as a cold.
