Miley Cyrus has slammed critics for calling her fat.
The 18-year-old singer was incensed that there were rumblings online that she had put on some pounds and reports in the media that she was now overweight.
Fans of the performer took to her Twitter yesterday calling Miley a "role model" and an "inspiration" leading the teen star to hit back at the negative press she has been receiving recently.
"By calling girls like me fat, this is what you're doing to other people," Miley said and posted a graphic image of an emaciated woman suffering from an eating disorder before adding, "I love MYSELF."
"I LOVE being shaped like a WOMAN & trust me ladies your man wont' mind either."
Miley is currently dating Australian actor Liam Hemsworth who recently told a magazine in his native country that he loves it when his girlfriend has "steak sauce dripping down her chin."
Fellow former Disney star Demi Lovato, who has also had criticism about her weight, tweeted her support to Miley.
"I love you," she told the ex Hannah Montana star. "Whoever called you that has it coming."
Demi spent three months in a rehab centre earlier this year for body image and emotional issues.
