Miley Cyrus had faith in promo

Miley Cyrus knew her latest music promo would be a success.

The singer-and-actress has caused a stir with the video to accompany her latest track We Can't Stop. In the promo, Miley and her friends let loose at a house party, and the former child star is seen wearing a series of sexy outfits and dancing provocatively. It has become the quickest video to reach 100 million views on VEVO and the star isn't surprised it has proven so popular.

"I knew it was going to be great, I knew it was going to go viral like that because it is interesting," she told BBC News. "People don't have a lot of faith, so they need a visual of what you are trying to say and who you are. I feel that video really sums that up, as I am not in a point in my life where it needs to be these beauty shots and it needs to be so set up. We didn't have a shot list, I just wanted it to be a night of people being free and having fun. You can see that in the video, it doesn't look like we hired a bunch of LA extras, you know."

To celebrate the video's landmark success, Miley has lived up to her promise by releasing a raunchier director's cut version of the clip. The new version sees the 20-year-old singing into a karaoke machine and showing off more of her signature 'twerking' dance moves.

Although Miley has undergone an image transformation recently, rocking edgier cropped hair and revealing outfits, she still believes she sets a good example to her younger fans.

"I don't think it matters how much skin you show. And I have the mouth of a sailor, I keep it nice for TV, but I don't think that makes someone a good or a bad person," she explained. "The way you treat people is what makes you a good person and everyone is equal. I treat everyone the same because I hate it when people treat me nicer than they treat other people because it's so fake. I think that is what makes a good role model, how you treat people."

The star is used to living in the public spotlight, having shot to fame in TV show Hannah Montana. Her private life has also been a source of great interest, particularly her partying and reportedly rocky romance with fiancé Liam Hemsworth.

Miley prefers to ignore the rumours and gossip and concentrate on her career.

"I think the people that fall off are the people who obsessed with googling themselves and know what everyone is saying," she added. "If I knew what people were saying about me I would probably hate myself. I don't look at that kind of stuff."
