Miley Cyrus is very aware that "everyone always judges" her actions.
The 20-year-old pop star premiered her latest single We Can't Stop on Ryan Seacrest's radio show Monday.
It is rumoured she and her actor fiancé Liam Hemsworth also recently called off their engagement to wed.
Miley reveals she is immersing herself in music at this time and that the new sounds are reflective of her current lot in life.
"I think I keep getting more connected with a sound that's my own. I love making music, so I've just been in the studio working," she told Ryan during his programme. "Everyone always judges. They say what they want. My fans [are] this group that's always stood by me. This song says where I am in my life right now."
Miley confirmed the accompanying music video to We Can't Stop was filmed last week.
She doesn't know when her album will be released and a concert tour has also not yet been scheduled.
"I'm really happy with my record. I'm in a good-bad situation where I just don't know what I want to go next," Miley explained.
"My record's kind of like a movie. It's really a story of what I've been going through. [Release date and tour will] be soon."
Miley's collaboration Ashtrays and Heartbreaks with rapper Snoop Lion as part of his Reincarnated album hit shelves in April.
