Miley Cyrus: Marijuana isn’t dangerous

Miley Cyrus believes cannabis is way less harmful than alcohol.

The 20-year-old We Can't Stop singer was embroiled in controversy in 2010 after she was videotaped smoking from a water bong.

When asked whether she was a "stoner" by a Rolling Stone magazine interviewer, Miley was indirect in her response.

"You can't ask someone that and expect them to say yes," she laughed. "I did a song with Snoop Dogg called Ashtrays and Heartbreaks, so people can put it together for themselves."

Miley doesn't think using marijuana will destroy lives.

The star finds other legal substances far more menacing than cannabis.

"I think alcohol is way more dangerous than marijuana - people can be mad at me for saying that, but I don't care," she declared.

"I've seen a lot of people spiral down with alcohol, but I've never seen that happen with weed.

"As long as it isn't illegal, there are far more dangerous things. And it's legal in the state of California. So I'm happy to live in California, a place where you can be whoever you want to be."

It is rumoured Miley recently called off her engagement with fiancé Liam Hemsworth.

When asked about her current relationship status with the 23-year-old Australian actor Miley provided an intriguing reply.

"I wear a ring every single day. I don't talk about my personal life, so that's enough of an answer," she said.

Miley and Liam were photographed attending a movie together at the ArcLight Cinemas in Los Angeles Monday night.

According to E! Online the pair were clearly affectionate with each other, with Miley holding her man's arm as they avoided paparazzi.

She was wearing her engagement ring.
